Question Opinons-Project Grendel

Hey guys Just completed my latest gun. I would appriciate any advice, opinions, suggestions etc.

Background:

I wanted to build gun that while looking good, is functional/versatile and stays true to it real life counter parts. The theme i was going for is sort of a Spec OPS rifle. I have a VLTOR stock and Ergo grip on the way. Originally i had an RIS rail and an ACOG but I decided to Go with an SIR (I like the 416 look) and aimpoint (to be used with my 3x magnifier- Thx Huang) instead. I'm also going to get a QD mount for the luancher.Overall i'm happy with it, looks kinda unique but not too outrageous (like most newbie rifles) but I would appriciate any opinions/advice and general comments to help me decide what other furniture (if any) it needs. I don't have anywhere to keep the battery at the moment but that what the VLTOR will be used for. I had a Knights Aramament QD SOPMOD silencer but I felt it threw the look off balance. Thanks for your input.
What do you guys think?

MODS:

Tightbore Barrel
Hop up
M100 spring and bearing spring guide
D-BOYS S.I.R.
ARMS Flip up BUIS
CA barrel mounted M203 (long)
G&P Aimpoint and QD mount
VLTOR stock (comming soon)
Ergo Grip (comming soon)
2 Rails for the SIR
3x Magnifier
SOPMOD metal body

Sorry about the blurry picture I was haveing a tought time getting the Camera to fucus properly.

I'm not offended, but yeah I think you're right. But it's kinda tough when you're basing it off of the same reffrences as everyone else. Sugestions?

Suggestion: Duct tape.

seriously? I like it, even though it is hard to be original when you have an Armalite these days.

Thx Talraga. I know Armalites are like the Honda Civics of airsoft but like civics they (Armalites)look great, they're dependable (though not like an AK) have some many costomisable parts and options. And I feel there's a reason that they are probably one of the most if not THE most widely chosen small arms by the armies of free world. I figure it's good enough for the SEAL's heck it good enuff for me. That said I do want my gun to look unique.

Okay, well you have a new stock coming and I presume it's black, so that kinda renders my first point moot (the odd man out colored stock). Also not a fan of the rack numbers, but that's a personal preference I guess. Maybe keep it smaller, and straight. Its a stock keeping number, not racing decal.

The other thing that really caught my eye is the pistol grip. Dunno if its just the pic, but it's like mad shiny. Check it out compared to the handguard of the M203. Maybe paint that a flat black (use a plastic model flat black spray paint, like Tamiya).

You may also want to consider an aftermarket pistol grip, like the Magpul MIAD, etc. I find them a lot more comfortable.

Maybe Ranger floorplates on your mags, or home made mag pullers.

Yeah I think the VLTOR that I have comming will drastically enhance the look of the gun. BTW-what does "moot" mean?

Yeah the picture does make it look a bit shinier than it actually is, but it's still too glossy. I will post pics when I get my new one.

Which do you think looks more spec ops? The one I have on there is my only single mag, all the other ones are in mag couplers.

Thanks for the suggestion Drake, I appriciate your input.

Seriously dude, please learn to spell, it's almost painful.

As for the gun, it looks like your upper and lower don't quite match up, if you can ge them the same colour then you'd be set. The comment reference the pistol grip is pretty valid too, its the small things that make the gun yours. Attention to detail.

True, but they are both SIR w/ M203's. The diffrences (as far as i can tell) Short barrel, RIS mounted M203 (short), and ARMS flip up front sight.
Suggestions?

that's not a ris mounted launcher. it's still barrel mounted but the bottom part of the sir has a cutout for it.

which are allhuge main things whichmakes it so different.
the sir is different too. if you want to build that same gun i would consider getting a different sir, i know of a real one for a really good price.
you are closer to building that hammer mods one. just cut off your 203. get a peq or something, the stock, the grip, sight.
but really it doesnt matter that much because its what you want to build. but if you want to copy one you have seen or do it mil style you've got alot of work to do.
