Thanks!
Found the original black grips and threw them on just to see. Flash shows the metallic flakes in the paint....may go black slide next time I bake, hmmmm.

^ that's pretty dope, I have been trying to think of what to paint my Les Baer 1911, as I don't really like the black it comes with, it just doesn't do it for me. You should post a durability update in some time, see how well that lasts.

At least this sort of baking is low calorie
Low gloss black engine enamel on slide (baked for 2 hours @ 300'F ), trigger swap done too.

Overall, it's pretty durable paint, but it will still wear off especially where there's metal on metal contact.
I did the frame of my other 1911 last year with the same low gloss black engine enamel. (Hasn't been gamed) Paint has worn off a little under the safety, but the other scratches were caused by carelessness on my part whilst swapping parts throughout the year.

Edit Nov 17 - The tan peanut magwell Duragrips have been sprayed with Dupli-color matt black vinyl coating, black 3-hole trigger installed (original trigger which I was able to thread a grub screw into, making it actually adjustable now) That's about it for now.

Its a USP match. I believe it was designed as a target shooting version of the USP. All it really does on the airsoft version is let you have a slightly longer inner barrel. Well and look totally badass too. If you watched the tomb raider movies, Laura Croft uses them extensively.

I imagine the real thing would work somewhat like a strike face as well.

I don't know if he was really speaking about the USP, of the one he quoted, but either way.

Here are more photos. Maybe too artsy, but I'm trying to improve and shoot better photos overall. Some people around here have a real talent.

Yes, the USP Match is really a USP with taller (Tactical) sights, a lighter trigger (on the real thing), a barrel weight to counter the muzzle raise and a fancy magwell.

Here it is side by side with my USP Tactical:

Both are KWA (Released under Umarex) and no, the Tactical doesn't have the ambidextrous release. You can swap the Match release on the Tactical if you need the lefty release (just tried to confirm, it works.

Have not touched airsoft a long time...though the cheap price of the Umarex/Stark Arms PPQ is interesting enough for me to bite...

Shoots ok, kicks pretty hard. The gun is a bit light...

Just staying in Michigan most of the time...autocrossing my car almost every weekend. Also the reason why I haven't paid too much attention to airsoft. My stuff is mostly gathering dust...lol
