New players are going to find the bar much higher for entry into this activity.
I see that it will lead less and less people being interested into this sport and eventulally only a hand full of people will be into the sport, I already know some people that has abandon this sport because of strick importations... Now this can lead to inflated prices or can turn 180 degree and no one will want to purchase any AEG's which results cheaper prices because people would want to get rid off...

Honestly, I dont believe there is anything to be worried about, just like my kidney stone, this shall pass.

Its a shame to lose a retailer, but we still have the classifieds here on ASC. In time Im sure another will rise to the task of importing, already now I see there some that are already doing so. I personally do not believe that our hobby/sport is at any risk.

This is in line with the meeting I had with the RCMP and Customs. Their unofficial mandate is not to outlaw airsoft, just make it difficult for people to get. I'm sure their thinking being, by limiting retailers and peoples access to airsoft, the number of kids showing up at school with their new cool gat should decrease.

Doesn't make sense in my mind. How come you can still buy a replica pellet gun at Can Tire?

That coupled with the fact that Ken's prices are usually better.

I guess, it would seem the other way around.
Blackhawk makes all their own gear. But do they have the best pricing around? No, you go to any site where Blackhawk is sold and it's cheaper. The whole point of selling your product to other retailers is to move individual (and thus stressful) business AWAY, and have more bulk (and thus non-stressful) business. Nobody wants to deal with thousands of orders a day.

Hyprocracy at best, outdated views at worst. Seriously, that's it. The definition of replica firearm doesn't distinguish between metal cones or plastic BBs.

im glad that T7 isn't worried. i like to think that he is correct in his hypothesis. that being said, i think this would be the perfect time for a new importer to arise to the challange because they will then be the ONLY importer in Canada.

Thanks for your confidence Donster, we shouldnt worry, because even if we do,there isnt really much, we as individuals can do. The best we can do is just be hopeful that this will pass, like some have stated, this is not the first time that we have lost a retailer. We've lost a tree branch, but that doesnt mean that the tree dies. Essentially all we can do now is be paitent. We still have access to accesories and parts and gear (through many retailers through out the world and in country), what else can we do? We can move on and see what else is further down the road.

Exactly Styrak, there are still MANY new guns getting into Canada. There are MANY 'importers' as well, not all bringing in huge numbers but still getting them in.

Airsoft dies when we can't play, not when we can't get the latest and greatest fresh off the assembly lines in Asia. The former is what makes us a sport and community, the latter is what makes us a hobby.
