something is definately wrong. chrono'd last night at the local army navy store, and went 274, 242, 287. also, tyhe gun felt like crap, and was not like it was when in my basement shooting at cans. the weird part is that my basement is ~ 60*F, and the chrono was done outside at ~ 80*F.
this gun is SOOOOO inconsistent, and is lasts 4 shots TOPS, and it is out of gas. what the hell is going on!!!!??? oh, ansd ONE MAG last night i got ~ 8 shots out of, but only 4 BBs exited the gun, which means 4 were dead fires. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

i'm far from an expert, but my kjw glock was having a hard time firing more 4 shots before dumping it's gas, turned out the gas valve in the mag wasn't returning to it's normal position fast enough after each shot so it was leaking gas. a little silicon oil in the valve helped(the little button like thing on the back of the mag.) also warming the mags up alot helped.

thanks for the tip!!! funny thing is, the gun was supposed to come with a "high flow valve", but it is a modified stock one. i am going to order a GOOD one and see if that helps.

The new hammer spring will help out with your consistency issue. as for being a gas hog well that is normal but you should be getting more then 4-8 shots.
are you filling the mags right? are you letting the mags warm up before use after fill? when you cycle the slide by hand is it catching anywhere or smooth? does it get more shots per fill when stock floating valve is put back in? get better mag valves I just got up from a late night I'll come back after some coffee and see if I can think of more. also "SD-PT-S710 Shooters Design Reinforced Part 10 for KSC Glock " might not fit your gun you may need to find the same part but number 8 KSC Glock 17/18 use part #10 yours and the 19 use part #8 Last edited by Tex; May 21st, 2009 at 14:20.. |

thanks tex!!! i will reinstall the stock floating valve and see if that helps.
also, i will look forward to you other thoughts after some coffee. |

Yeah I will wait and see what the outcome of that test is. I know the hurricane floating valves need some sort of mod to make them work right.
but right now I see a few things that will mess with things until they are fixed. hopup BB hammer spring maybe floating valve and or it's spring. try combos with the stock part swap the springs and valves around and see what happens. I would try stock spring + new valve first. Last edited by Tex; May 21st, 2009 at 15:24.. |

ok, new bucking rubber and hop up ball installed.
teflon "MOD" done. airsoft surgeon floating valve removed, stock one back in with AS spring. gun still fires ~ 4 shots and is out of gas. still misfiring every other shot. and now a new issue, the blowback doesnt always fully cycle. like, it goes back, and will come forward, but stop ~ 1/4" from where it needs to be. this doesnt happen all the time, just intermittently. i am beginning to think the "high flow valve" in the mag is bad. upon closer inspection, it looks to be a stock valve that has a "rib" or slat cut out of it. i am ordering a new one today. at least that will eliminate the mag as the issue. from there i will install the new hammer spring etc (currently in the air over the pond) also, when filling the mag (with gas) while in the gun, it will just spray out the muzzle (as before) BUT then it will catch, and BAM, fill up the magazine. this also points me to a sticking HFV. i hope this is the case, because it is really annoying refilling every 4 shots, especially when two of them are duds. |

ok, ordered another high flow valve, and the firefly rocket valve (i think the airsoft surgeon one just unloads too much gas)
i also got new blowback springs (part 23) cause one of mine looks bent somehow, also got the PROUD mag top (not too sure of the real name, part 207) lets see how this ish works out. |

Sounds like the AS floating valve spring is too strong. parts 23 get bent when reinstalling everything back in to the slide you just have to go slow and be careful.

so, should i use stock spring, and AS valve?

I would I really sounds like that spring is not letting the valve close in time.

see, that's the weird part:
i thought the same thing, so i left the AS spring in because it is CLEARLY stronger, thinking it would close faster. BUT, maybe the stronger spring is causing this, cause the air has to push harder to open it, thus using more air. so, should i get rid of the AS Valve and spring? i ordered the firefly rocket valve, but it is my understanding that it only increases reliability, and not FPS. |

Yeah the spring holds the valve open so stronger = slower. AS thinking was hold the valve open longer get more gas in the barrel less blowing back but they seem to have made it too stiff. I would say toss the spring in your spare parts box but keep up the trial and error and see if you can get the valve to work right with the stock spring.

Ok, AS spring out, AS valve in with stock spring....
EUREKA!!!!!! Gun fires hard and fast, is seemingly consistant, and is destroying my test shot bag (bag full of empty beer cans) This was the isssue! So, no more airsoft surgeon spring in the floating valve assembly, it sucks a fat one. Now, waiting on the other parts to make her more powerful. Then, back to the army navy store to chrono again. |
