Official ASC "Dumb Ass"

Zulu, you went about this all wrong, you should have first introduced yourself to ASC members in your neck of the woods in person, shown them what you are about and gotten them to back you

They'll be attending another event, so just wait and see what people have to say. Exactly that. Quote:
This is probably doubly true for the really milsim-minded teams. Quote:
Conversely, I think you also have to keep in mind this community has seen its share of shysters, big ideas that never materialize, "big events" that failed to deliver, etc. So while it may not be the case for you, people here are weary of strangers especially for stuff like this. Likewise its not unreasonable for people to want to know what they're paying for, as a consumer I'm certain you understand this. Quote:
Additionally, you should probably make and maintain a proper event announcement thread in the Games & Events section instead of having it buried in this one.

I know we are all a little jaded as Canadian airsofters from the constant litany of fly-by-night "revolutionary" plans that get paraded out every year, but the reaction to this thread has been absolutely outright hostile. No wonder the sport isn't evolving and is stagnating.

Drake; While I understand you may not want to have to reply to every comment being made, you should nonetheless keep an open line of communication with the community if you have any hope of having people from here attend your events.
Additionally, you should probably make and maintain a proper event announcement thread in the Games & Events section instead of having it buried in this one.[/QUOTE] Lines are open to all INTERESTED parties i have a website www.zulu1militarysimulation.com and an Facebook event https://www.facebook.com/events/164794520377902/ set up for this and I will happy discuss this in person or via the phone with genuinely interested players, i have already! I WILL not be drawn into more negative discussion - i understand the resistance and concern speak to me personally. If you are then not satisfied don't come to the event i'm not twisting arms here. All further event info will be given out on the above media i urge all to follow us there. Thanks asc |

So... since it's now cancelled... or "post-poned" until next year... do we get a refund if we pre-paid..?
is this even going to happen? |
September 12th, 2013, 02:13 | #53 |
GBBR it's NOT cancelled!! -
sure any open minded player that had the foresight to prepay certainly gets a refund. in fact i'll offer a free spot in May on top of the refund. Question for all Would you fly 4500miles without knowing if there was a game to attend? no ? So why would the Tier1 and Royal Marine DS, like any major event prepaid attendance is a must for planning and organisation. Payment by Paypal invoice with all the protection Paypal offers Last edited by Zulu 1; September 12th, 2013 at 02:47.. Reason: addition |

Mr. Zulu, Don't take this the wrong way. I am just trying to help you out here. Some of the skepticism on here could be attributed to the fact that you never use your name, your website does not indicate where you are based (no physical address, city, even province) and there is no phone number, etc. Mystery and intrigue will only get you so far in this community. I truly do hope you succeed but antagonizing your customer base is not a great start. I recently attended OPSF put on by MGP and they had some issues but it was great experience for me. Going in, the organizer's Bios were all published on the website which made me more comfortable about who was putting it on and their experience. Transparency may serve you well. Cheers.

It's hard enough trying to grow any type of community in a country as large as Canada. But for so many people to be so hostile and arguementative againest a small business owner trying to promote a great idea in such an awsome sport..well it's says a lot about some peoples character or lack there of.
