There's the link to the thread that talks about this problem with tm g17's. There's a diagram that one dude put up showing where to file it down that worked for his serpa. I'm going to try it later tonight for the safariland.

Remove the holster from the platform, and apply heat with a heat gun to the area where the slide would normally rest until the ABS softens up. Then, stick the gun in the holster and stick it in your freezer until it hardens up. Then put it back on the platfrom and you should be good to go.
Thanks mcguyver. I'll try this if the filing doesn't work out.

I'm not on Arnies, so I can't see the link. The Safariland has that faux suede shit on the inside, so what are you filing? Is it the slide?

Wow. I didn't realize you had to file down the rail on the gun itself. For me, I'd rather heat a $150 holster than file a $300 gun.

To each his own yet again mcguyver. I would rather take a small risk in ruining the lower frame, since you can get a replacement lower frame (guarder i think) for like $40. $40 < $150. Plus i dont like my guns looking all pretty anyways... a little filing wear may look cool ass.

I like my guns pretty.

Besides, the holster is undamaged, and will still retain the real gun it was meant for, you just have to employ the tensioning screws. Mine is meant for G19 with M3, and it will retain a Glock 22 with M3.

No damage to gun or holster, or definate damage to gun. I'll take undamaged anyday, as would most people.

Absolute news to me. However, my G17 WAS a KSC.

Thanks for the intel, and I stand corrected.

In post 31, if you are a member of arnies (takes all of 20 seconds to sign up), you will read that this filing diagram was indeed for a serpa, not a safariland.

mcguyver, I'm going to see if it works for the safariland too... partially because i want an excuse to order the lower frame, which has real trades

I can't see why it wouldn't work. I have noticed though that not even all KSC guns are built the same. A local fellow had a G17, and it would not fit into the SERPA at all. He tried to jam it in, and it took both of us to pull the bugger out. The G19 dropped right in.

The real Glock fits perfect though.

I would only recommend heating the Safariland though, and not the SERPA, for obvious reasons.

Kind of a threadjack, but not really, do the serpas, and safarilands hold glock AEP's?

OK..heres some helpful info i just read on arnies....for those with TM GLOCK's be it Gen 3 g17 or g18c aep..GO BUY ANY SERPA HOLSTER FOR GLOCK 20/21THEY WILL FIT PERFECTLY..(as RS Glock 20 is .7mm thicker and 7mm longer than RS Glock 17, TM versions will be closer to the G20). I just ordered mine from coporate supply. I ordered the SERPA drop leg system + SERPA level 2 CQC holster for G20/G21, in the end I will have both paddle, belt hip and drop leg system...i will have the modularity to go either way depending on environment and application....Once i get it i will post pics..but this is definitely positive news for those confused as to which SERPA Holster to get for those TM Glock 17 or 18c aep users.

I did the above mentioned filing on my tm g17 frame last night and it worked like a charm. The fit in my safariland is now superb.
