If its not Clear or painted another color, dont take the risk. I heard of a story on Planetairsoft (wasnt halloween) where the guy got a hole police road block on him cuz of a gun made out of wood in his back seat.

Its not worth getting airsoft banned cuz you got your ass shot up by cops

Thats true; I guess you could also get a cheap $5 gun from a toy store that is clearly plastic, not 1:1 replica and has an orange tip.

Funny sotry about softair and such. So a friend of mine went with a few others to pick up a shitty softair gun at ct. They picked up the crappy pistol when it came out. On the truck drive home the two who wre int he pack seat opened it up and started to look at it. A couple in the car behind them seen it and called the cops. They were stopped by 5 cop cars and all the poilice had there guns drawn. So yah even a shitty fake gunt hats clear can be misenterprited for a gun.

People are always paranoid. Most of the time it's a pain in the ass, but sometimes it can be a good thing.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but it's simple...take the gun off your gear, along with the holster. Problem solved.

I'm wearing my 'nam kit to work tomorrow for a costume contest. There will be a canteen cover where my holster normally is. No fuss no muss.

Think about all the shootings in Toronto this year. The media has called this the "Summer of the Gun". Innocent people are being killed by gun violence. It is irresponsible for any member of this community to wear their guns in any sort of public environment outside of a sanctioned field. My brother wanted to borrow one of mine for his cotsume, instead he went with a bright orange squirt gun. In the end, it doesnt matter if your gun looks real or not for a COSTUME, hallowe'en is about parties and fun.

Every person who is seen in public/arrested/whatever with an airsoft gun, drives another nail in the coffin of our sport.

I can't see paranoia and ignorance ever being a good thing. Much like our country's beloved firearm registry, it goes a long way to annoy the honest citizen and does bupkis to stop criminals (I may be wrong, I just don't get the feeling many gangbangers registered their Glocks, or Hell Angels registered thier Mac11s and sawed off 870s).

But the story does totally prove the point of the original post in this thread; the averge Joe Schmoe can't tell a clear plastic softair gun from a WMD.

People HAVE gotten uber paranoid about guns (no thanks to the media). When I was a kid trick or treating (70s, early 80s), I had reasonably realistic guns (ultra realistic compared to clear plastic CT shit) on a few occasions (cowboy - nice revolver that shot caps, bank robber - had a sweet plastic 1911A1). Heck in those days, we use to play cops and robers with cap guns on the street, it was NEVER an issue. So the times have changed dramatically (yeah. kids didnt bring guns to school back then, and you got into a world of trouble for swearing. Today every seems okay with 8 year old rapper wannabe kids saying 'fuck you' and 'nigger')

A lot of you are mentioning painting your cap guns, or whatever fake gun a bright colour. While that helps, it doesn't exactly solve the problem. A lot of police involved shootings occur in dark areas, at night (parties, trick-or-treating, etc), where there isn't a lot of light. All the Officer can see is the (dark) outline of a weapon.

Just do what Treadstone said, leave the gun and holster behind. Nobody will even care. It's a lot better than the alternative.

IT was still stupid to draw anything resembling a gun in the car, thoes people in the car behind you may not be as knowledgable in the area of firearms as you. They may not know some guns aren't clear, they recognize the shape and they react in a natural automatic way.

his older brother has spent several years colecting all the lighting, he was a manager at zellers and collected all that over about 5 or 6 years. the disco ball is nothing he decorates his bascment like a night club best partys i have ever been to have been there. plus like i said i know everyone that comes with the exception of a few new people so you can have alot more fun that a party where you dont know any one
