my goal with the SVD dragunov is to upgrade
i believe there is a kit for it that uses a CO2 cartridge that is supposed to increase the FPS alot
i guess it's just pop out the springer parts in the top and replace with these
i also want to get a sniper scope and bipod for it too
boosted power and looks to match
not trying to do the impossible, just want it to look real
lol

Don't use the SVD CO2 kit, it's crap. it has very inconsistent FPS, which leads to inconsistent shots of low accuracy. Keep it as a springer and use AirsoftPro.cz upgrade parts.

I would PM you, but this info could be useful to others, so I'll post it here.

The upgrades can be found on:

http://airsoftpro.cz/eshop/index.php?cPath=93_204

You specifically want:
Cylinder head: http://airsoftpro.cz/eshop/product_i...oducts_id=2231
New hop up unit (works GREAT, the stock hop-up unit is crap and double feeds all the time): http://airsoftpro.cz/eshop/product_i...oducts_id=1814
Aluminum and steel piston: http://airsoftpro.cz/eshop/product_i...oducts_id=1473
Steel sear: http://airsoftpro.cz/eshop/product_i...roducts_id=821
Stable outer barrel housing: http://airsoftpro.cz/eshop/product_i...oducts_id=2484

The stock piston is not bad, but the upgraded piston will last longer with the upgraded sear and allows you to use a AEG piston head, such as a Prometheus or ARS piston heads, which are great and seal very well.

I've found the inner barrel to be pretty decent once it is cleaned thoroughly, I did not get much more precision from upgrading to a Prometheus barrel, so it is not a priority upgrade if you are short on funds.

You will also want a good hop up rubber, any AEG rubber will work, use your preffered brand.

I would suggest you read this whole thread, it's full of great info:

I just want to say thank you for making this thread, I've never been the sniper type as far as games go, I like em on xbox games

Was just at Capital airsoft getting age verified, glad I found this website first. I knew what to ask, even though I don't know what I want, I'm a few steps closer.

I like the comments on the silent aspect.
Would a kjw m700 be loud given its gas compared to say an A&K m24?

I searched a little on silencers the posts were old and saying you can buy but you shouldn't make. I noticed ehobbyasia will not ship silencers. Don't recall seeing anything in the stickys in regards to them; are they prohib?

nvm see them at Canadian retailers.
still curious as to the first question

Real silencers in Canada are prohibited, but a device that is capable of suppression may also be thrown into question. There are plenty of Canadian retailers that carry airsoft grade silencers, I'd stick with that to be safe. Not all platforms can/will be suppressed. Some guns go completely silent, some guns get somewhat quieted, and some there is no effect. I've seen a TM VSR that was completely silent, a CA G36 that was very silent, a TM AUG that was mildly quieted, a WE M14 that was about half quieted, and PTWs that cannot be surpressed. Sometimes it just takes a plain silencer, sometes one with foam, one with a shock absorber. Sometimes it takes other devices like air brakes, damper cylinder heads, sorbo pads, or combinations of things. It all depends on what you have.

I used to run a KJ M700 about 2 years back. The thing was crazy quiet even without a suppressor.

I used a suppressor for a while, but I found it would make my shots veer off every now and then. The gun itself is absolutely fine as is. Just bear in mind a gas sniper rifle will not be as consistent as a springer, and even subtle changes in ambient temperature will play around with how hot your gun shoots.

I have a bolt action airsoft gun. I just tried playing with it in a skirmish game
last week. My first game actually. I have had the gun years even before I entered the airsoft gaming. I bought it mainly because I love the gun model and for plinking stuff and I know that its no match against an aeg but Its the only
airsoft gun I have and I wanna play more games with it. I dont really care If I dont get kills with. I just wanna play "ambush predator". Is it really that bad to use a bolt action
airsoft rifle?
