Twin desert eagles ... 6 mags (will 5 now... ones sitting on a forest floor somewhere)
but I'll go into outdoor games with just my pistols... or have the twins on my legs with an AEG and drop the aeg in a heartbeat to go to twins and rain hell but I'm one of the wierd/crazy bastards I'm currently making the transition to purely pistols (or built from a pistol) armory

2 mags and one in the gun, thats pretty much more than enough for even a really long game.

Ive done entire games with just my 4.3
Pistols can be VERY useful. Ive heard many people say "I dont run pistols, Theres no point. AEG is enough for me". Ive always ran at LEAST one pistol. On occasion ive run 2. I own at least 4 sidearms. One should not discount them as "useless". Last game, up in Caledon, there was snow on the ground, and it was below freezing. When people saw me filling up propane, they laughed. Ask them now, how many kills I got with my pistol that day. Noone was laughing when the game was over. Mind you. Im not a "gunslinger" or hotshot. I just happen to be better with em than my rifles. *shrugs*

3 mags or 3 pistols?
I kid, only for absurd games, though I do wonder how effective the 'Matrix' tactic might work... |

Down to realism
Quote:
Carrying more to realism will help you manage your shots, such as above, this will actually help teach you to somewhat count your shots and conserve. Shoot only when you need to. 6 primary if not more is good at a low cap count and 3 mags. 3 sidearm mags is a good number. One is kept loaded and the other two are just aching to be loaded to take out the opposition. I'd say start high and taper back every so often. Also keep in mind what position you are playing. If your playing close quarter's, then an extra sidearm mag might be a good idea. It takes time and practice, you'll figure it out as you go. |

Rather like my first game at the Mill in QC, had quite a few local friends ribbing me about how I was gonna get my ass handed to me because it was CQB, I was out of my element of the woods, and it was my first time there playing............ literally I got a couple dozen kills with my G19 and six mags on me, doing quite a bit of the 'Center Axis Relock' techniques (like being able to shoot strongly with both hands, all dominant eye, tucked close behind cover, etc.)....... the second game of the day I had my MP5 on me, really only had it slung on my back and used it's mags to reload my pistol mags. Anyways, I shut a lot of people up that day, and pointed out "Listen, yes, it was my first day playing at the Mill, and it was the first time playing CQB with you guys. But I've done CQB stuff long before you even started airsoft, so don't tell me I'm suddenly 'out of my element'" Hehe
