really, if you've not tried the real 'built-in' knee pads you have no right to say squat. i used to use a set of skater kneepads (no idea what brand but they cost 50/60 english pounds when i bought them years ago, amazing and comfortable as hell) that i thought i'd never get rid of but after using the built-in versions ONCE i've realised i won't go back. my only 'gripe' is that they seem to be a tad stiff, almost didn't make a large jump across a trench.. anyway, +1 on the 'buying quality' and also, if you really want everything to match, buy real, not replica. my plate carrier is the HSGI Weesatch, all pouches are either Tac tailor or HSGI.. (oh, radio pouch is from UR-Tactical and i have on rolly-polly dump pouch by EGLI i think) and the colors match very well. on all the tac gear it's a perfect match, all 1000D and the uniform is only slightly off due to the difference in material, but when you compare the 500D on the knees to the 1000D tac gear, it's a match. the ability to un-zip the sides and cool off (cyprus, 40 degrees centigrade in the shade here) is a biiiig plus. it's jsut the sheer quality that is emitted from the UR-tactial stuff.. it actually feels like you have a great deal, like they didn't just make a 50% margin after everything..

there is a huge color difference between my gen1 and my gen2. my ones are very temperate/ green. my twos are very arid/ brown. i think as cactus mentioned it has alot to do with the material as well.
but dont buy replica, the color bleaches out from the sun within a season, the stitching on that pads is weak and they pull off, the cut isnt quite right, the blend between the greens and the browns isnt as much a fade as it is a line. it always looks brown and pinkish against real multicam after a couple months. i dont know how you cant see the difference between multicams (real to replica) maybe fresh off the shelf you may have trouble but within 2 months its clear. my entire team runs multicam, half crye, ice or propper, the other half huangcam. theyre great if your running replica on replica, but all my guys have only had theyres a year or so and all need to buy replacments. ive had my cryes for 4 years now. |

The good, the bad and Ugly news.
Bad news should always come first. Flame me if you want but don't care. I settled on Propper Small/Regular Multicam pants and jacket for a great price and It actually fits me . Ill get the shirt when my supplier gets it in, in two weeks. I know I said I was Anti-Propper, but thats because I took advice from people, instead of checking it out myself. It looked good enough for now. I figured that if I'm not happy with Propper after a season or two I'll buy Crye and tell my wife, "I told you so!" and spending on Crye's expensive prices will be 100% justified. The Good - This whole shopping spree started when my wife's nephew saw a Condor Multicam Operators Plate Carrier Vest on sale, So I picked it up. I also bought a whole bunch of Condor Multicam pouches and a few other accessories. Left the store and came back a few hours later to buy the Propper BDU. Today's outing made a +$550 dent in my wallet. I figured that I'm putting too much stock into my BDU for a newbie. Instead I'm going to spend extra on the AEG instead. I've decided on getting a VFC SR16 E3 IWS 10.5" as my first gun and add some external upgrades like AFG, holo red/green/blue dot sights with maybe a flip down 4x scope, etc... & get a full auto gbb Beretta as my pistol. The Ugly - I know I said that I'm looking for quality, but even Condor doesn't have clean record. I have to exchange my Condor drop pouch because one of the straps on the molle attachments dethread itself when I tried to install it on my vest! Thanks for all the help guys, See ya on the field!

My favorite pouches are my dondor double mag pouches, I've got 7 and they're all great lol
I just don't like the condor plate carrier, but the company that made my super awesome cool plate carrier that I have doesn't make my plate carrier anymore lol And propper/tru-spec BDU's aren't BAD, but you'll REALLY be wishing you had bought atleast a cheaper (ur-tactical) tactical shirt when it's 34 degrees and sunny |

I plan on getting a Multicam tactical shirt, but for now I don't need it. My wife's nephew and his friends sport the camo pants and black shirts (Kind of like shirts vs skins). So if I want to play on their team, I just need to add a black shirt. I'll be wearing Multicam everything if/when I go solo or when they all decide to switch to Multicam everything also.
