I paid less than half what you did from my issue cf bdu's from army issue, and I know for a fact that mine are legit.
Edit: Sorry looked at wrong kit. Last edited by T_A_N_K; February 20th, 2008 at 14:24.. |

Morb, Tank, Cadet and WhiteKnight , Thanks for all the referrals.
Frontenac is no longer in the uniform business, if I have my info right. This EAST Airsoft Canada guy is likley selling off whats left of the inventory. Enjoy the suit and good luck. Boots you want are the CF Mk4 it looks like the new Gore-tex boot but much lighter. Your other option is to go with the CF issue Tan Desert boots . These are light and comfy for summer time play. I've wear both often, very comfy and inexpensive $50 and $40 respectively. If you want a Tact vest I have a few recommendations but you could get the CF copy if you are looking for an Impression rather that a game vest. But hey, what do these guys know. Cheers |

Thanks Armyissue. I just bought a vest yesterday, but I'm probably gonna get some boots from you. http://i11.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/bb/25/9bb6_1.JPG

Sorry drag i looked at the wrong kit. Not bad for 120. But a lot of the repro stuff fade after the first couple washes and quality is hit and miss. Just remember that going the cheaper route at first maybe be cost effective initially but is it not always the case in the long run.

Frotenac wont fade all that much. I have a pair of the pants and wear them as everday pants, been washed prolly 200 times and only now have they faded a little bit.

Frontenac doesn't fade. The stuff to watch our for (for fading) is Parklands.
Frontenac stuff is ok. The earlier generations of it were modelled after the old MkI CF OD combats. The later versions of Frontenac are kind of weird; DND smacked them pretty bad for "bending" the rules on the reproduction after they lost the contract to produce the issue uniforms. The pockets are less useable (i.e. not billowed), and the pants are complete ass. To quantify, the belt loops are shoddy, and there's zero reinforcement in the knees and butt. Anyone who ever wore the old CF OD's will tell you from experience why they reinforced that area....after a while they wear and turn into "combat lingerie". Just the nature of the nylon blend material. They also lack the signature "sand traps" that are built into issue pants. Note here, the die job performed on the Frontenac stuff is fundamentally better than the job on the issue stuff. Frontenac will outlive issue as far as the pattern fade is concerned, but the issue stuff is tougher, reinforced, and has a lot of modernized features as part of the new uniform design. The cadpat pattern is very slightly different between Frontenac and issue, although many will debate that. The greens are darker on the Frontenac, the browns less "pink". That being said, it's perfectly serviceable. Issue is MUCH more comfortable. |
