Well the M130 works. Weird how it almost feels harder to compress and looks thicker. I noticed the M140 is a little longer and its oil tempered rather then Stainless.
The stock echo battery doesn't turn it over but the 30amp discharge battery does... I guess I'll pick up a battery pouch so I can use large batteries and higher voltages. Using a Colagraph I can pierce the bottom and bottoms edge so I should be getting right around 450fps. BUT, BIG problem! My mag doesn't feed right. It jams the bb's everytime. I've got new hard bucking and somethings not right. I thought I installed it perfectly but I guess something wrong. It'll jam on 1 shot then it will feed about 2-3 more rounds so I have take the mag out and unjam them.... Also when I single load the gun it shoots amazingly straight..aaahh so nice. I also found something on my hopup. Since I have a 2 piece hopup the casting sucks since its China made. There is a casting nub on the back of the hopup where it touches the gearbox. I believe if i sand off this casting nub I will get a tigher seal and added fps. |

I vote for "mechbox bustage". My V2 mechbox using a good PDI 150% spring (350fps in an MP5) busted within a couple thousand shots indoors (was over the winter, upgraded in December, was installing a reinforced "takes a bit longer to break" mechbox by February.

I installed a reinforced V2 mechbox in February and noticed it was busted in August. Had less than a 1000rnds fired through it with 386fps.

^what was your mechbox setup?
I have a GnP with promethus reinforced piston, M120S shooting at 398fps and i've shot like 4000+ through it *knocks on wood* |

you are pushing a V2 past it's limits-no mater what you do you will have problem after problem. If you are wanting that kind of power then order a systema MAX with the 150 cylinder-only problem is the couple grand to get into it.

G&P says it all, it's a strong mechbox.

It's a Guarder reinforced mechbox, Guarder Infinite torque up gears, Hurricane cylinder kit, airsoft surgeon stage 3 spring, and systema piston.

well, someone was right about the piston head not lasting long with the tapered cylinder head. Opened the gun up and the piston head cracked around the port holes. I've got my stock piston head but I don't want to use it because of the weight that the screw holds it in place with is heavy and I think im going to crack my box with that piston head. So now I need to pick up a new piston head and I am thinking if picking up a area 1000 cylinder head because its metal and it has the flat design rather then a taper. Would my stock cylinder head work just fine?
I think I found out why the gun wasn't feeding bb's from the mags. The anti reversial latch's spring busted so it was just hanging there, not doing its job. Thats why. |

You CAN'T use any flat piston head with your cylinder head. You're going to break every single piston head like that you try (except for metal ones - but then you might as well chuck your gearbox in the garbage if you use a metal piston head. The impact will destroy your gearbox.)
Your cylinder head is meant for a silent piston head. They have a concave nipple on it to mate with the back of your cylinder head. There ARE ways to push v2 gearboxes well past 450fps... even stock Marui ones. MOST of it has to do with proper cylinder/piston head selection. The silent varieties take a massive amount of impact off the gearbox. Here's a wild idea: USE IT! If you're that concerned about gearbox durability, get an Angel silent head set. Empirical tests have been performed which prove that the Angel brand of silent head set took off the MOST impact on the gearbox, followed by the Systema brand of silent head sets. Synthetic brands such as Prometheus POM, Systema Silicone follow up next, and then stock Marui heads. Trailing at the end are any metal piston heads, ESPECIALLY the hard recoil piston head.

So the systema bore up cylinder kit would be a good one to go with ?

Yeah... you can use a bore up cylinder kit as well. It would work fine at your velocity.

ok, i krazy glued the piston head and then sanded it to its previous state which looks new. Hopefully with the stock cylinder head things will be back to normal, not breaking.
Illusion, what ways? I was told plastic spacers either between the piston and spring or spring and spring guide. I herd that 1 spacer would add about 10fps but what size I do not know. Plus this aded length would add resting stress on the gearbox. No, im not worried that my gearbox will break but I just want things to last. Hopefully I can pick up just a anti reversial latch spring instead of buying a entire new latch. Is that my bb feeding problems? Since the spring wasn't there the gears were moving too fast and the bb didn't have enough time to feed? Other then that, I think im set. Once I get back from vacation and get things back together I'll make sure things feed right and then I'll do a battery test since I've got a brand new 1500mAh 8.4V battery that works with the M130. I want to know how many round I can get off on a 8.4v so I don't run out of juice at my next event. |

im running a M130 in my VFC HK416.
but i swaped out the mechbox for a ProWin 8mm split mech box (evil grin), so i guess i dont have to worry about cracking it?

I'll just use the piston head for the RPB(rounds per battery) test. Then i'll swap it out with a new POM one. What sucks is I spent about $30 getting the gun upto 400fps. Now I'm trying to get it to 450+fps and I've spent about $150 more just to get it there...
Oh well, it'll be worth it when I play in a game. What would you say would be a reasonable rounds used for a DM for a 1 day event (8 hours)???? I'm thinking if my battery can pull the M130 for about 500-600 rounds I should be good with that battery for a entire day. |
