You'll likely have the pay the return shipping which will make it not worth it probably.

Doing a chargeback on your credit card is not a good idea if you used Paypal. Paypal will send the chargebacked amount to collections.

I totally understand being anal about markings. I'm like that all the time with my toys. I have a specific image in mind and I want to achieve or come close to that image as much as possible.

The fact that they offered to give you 25$ credit is pretty damn good compared to other over seas companies.

Most of them wouldn't offer to compensate you at all or even accept a return.

I say if you can live with the imperfection then keep it and take the 25$.
If you can't just return it

it may lower your credibility for future claims that are of greater concern, either with your credit card or paypal. The vendor may also refuse to do business with you in the future, as when paypal or credit do a chargeback, they loose 100% of the amount.

chargebacks of this nature are dick moves and borderline fraud. imo.

Yeah, Amex is wonderful for customers because they immediately initiate the refund and undertake the liability in the very very odd chance that the vendor can prove that it's your fault. Ie. they'd eat the cost.

But if you did the purchase on Paypal and you initiated an Amex chargeback instead of a Paypal chargeback, it would affect your standing with them. Threaten to initiate a Paypal chargeback (or just do it, if the time is running out) and see what happens.

What I was told, no creditable sources, but local retailer told my mate that VFC lost their H&K licenses, and 2016 is the last year for production of legitimately trades.

Update:
Contacted PP to request partial refund on the purchase. I said that without the proper trades I'm not convinced AG has sent me an authentic VFC model. I stated that the partial refund would be used to cover expenses related to custom engraving the gun and other incidental travel expenses to a shop.

PP's verdict is that I'm eligible for only a full refund, under the condition that I return the item as is and I'm responsible for shipping/handling. I cancelled the claim and initiated a dispute through Amex. Sent them a 3 page report of the situation so hopefully they'll be able to assist with the matter better.

He ended up with a US batch gun. It is stripped of all trades.

The full trades one are Asia editions with upgrades to bump the FPS. Hence why the MP5K was sold with the upgraded silencer to up the FPS to comply to Canada import laws.

What you have is authentic. Believe me, there is a batch of VFC guns that have no trades because they are trying to comply with US import laws.

You can almost pinpoint the exact moment and time when he read this message by sequential and his life and spirit was crushed which is when the threads started popping up:
