Still haven't been able to put it through her paces. Airsoft here is pretty much spoiled this month. We have one of ours getting married, and of course people on holidays. Unfortunately, my TM probably won't get built this season, due to lack of funds. But I know what it can do, as I've seem Thunder's in action. I'll keep a record of what my gas gun is doing. As it's a project gun, I'll keep tweaking and playing with it until I can make something from it. I'll have to get some adverse BB weights as well, to test it out.
We've been doing some testing with our PTWs at Rob's shop, with measured targets. With the new final Evolutions, we are hitting a soccer ball sized target at 200', and a basketball sized at 250'. The BB travel was well over 300'. For that test the guns chrono'd about 410-415 FPS with 0.20g BBs, but we used 0.30g to shoot. This was all done with a Magpul flip up sight. We had similar results, with the older model PTWs, but the 2012 were definitely superior. We have had BB travel over 300' with older models, while using 0.28g BBs. My goal (however unrealistic) is to have my gas BA blow that out of the water. While staying under 500 FPS. I think it must at least be possible to hit a soccer ball sized object at 300', with the right BB weight, and spin. That's why I've taken advice from ThunderCactus and Amos on the TM gun. It'll be reliable, and quiet. I was impressed with the build they had, and Thunder has been a lot of help with this endeavor.

You can get BB bottles of .36 and .40 BBs, about 2500 or maybe more at Wholesale Sports for $45/bottle.
Worth a look for heavy BBs that are easily accessible.

The gas powered one I bought used from a friend, and it shot 550 FPS with 0.20g. However; gas rifles can have different FPS due to heat. The Marui (like any Marui) will shoot around 300 FPS. The Ares is probably around $800, and the Marui is around $900 in country. They are both heavily overpriced in country (if you can find them), but they would both require heavy upgrades if you are serious.
