Here a small image of the actual german desert-pattern (called "Tropentarn") as used by the German Army in Afghanistan:

I sure wish it was easier to find quality rigs in Tropentarn! But yeah, my vote is towards Fleck. I have both uniforms, and they both work great, but it all depends where you are playing in Canada. We have a very "varied" forest types through the country.

IMHO, if you were to wear just one pattern all year round, flecktarn would be the best
CADPAT I find to work wonders during the warmer months, but stands out once the leaves change colours In my playing fields, I find that even though it is nice and green out, there is still enough brown to make flekkie useful anyway, concealment is more important than camo, IMO a naked guy behind a bush is harder to spot than a guy wearing fleck/DPM in the open |

I think all camo is useful, just how you use it to your advantage

Rizzo, can you take anymore photos of various patterns? I would like to see British DPM and German Flecktarn in those same green environments that you previously posted. Also, if you could take photos from varying distances or placing the camo behind a bit of vegeatation. That would be awesome.

I haven't managed to get good views of the British DPM yet, but I found one of my Dutch DPM images:

Thanks Lerch. I really love to work with different patterns and environmets to take photos.
To get a little off-topic: I try to compare different camo-patterns and their effectiveness in various settings. If someone ist interested to see more about those or even feels free to give me a little help on my research on camouflage technics, see my other threads on that. I have startet two threads on this themes: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=28660 http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=28003 But now back to topic. I will try to get some images of British DPM in here as soon as I get another foto session running on that. If you are interested to see other patterns, just look at the above mentioned links. |

The Canadian Gov 't had asked the same quesion in the early 90's. The answer is cadpat. The Kruats and Limey's are a little slow but they will catch on.
