Another really good option instead of the kinder eggs is to use the little paper cups you put ketchup in. They can be bought at Walmart, 500 for $3.99.

so a friend of mine has volenteered to be a test subject for the vid when i did my first test fire, it poped the seam in the egg, so there is no worry about plastic shrapnle (exept the 6mm variety, and the BBs are only .12`s cause i didnt want to waste my good ones)

what kind of "small firework" are you using?

and good to here the actual egg didnt explode into shrapnel.
though I kinda like eeyores idea of the paper cups.

as for being anal, yes I will be anal about anything that involves explosives. that includes those mass produced pea grenades.

If they have been proven safe, fine. but safety is my main concern, if the group that usually runs with them has rules in place and knows how to behave around these things safely its all good.

The problem with custom explosives is that they are custom. There's no real regulations or quality control. Ad once you wrap an explosive in something it changes the explosive.
Sadly they will always be banned at most fields for this reason.

the next logical step would be an m80 inside a bottle of bb's,. set off with a model rocket ignitor and 50 or so ft of wire.

I love home schooled pyro guys. They're usually shy an eye or a couple fingers but they have great stories.

Where do you get the firecrackers? Seems to me firecrackers are illegal in canada as well. I make my own out of blackkpowder, but they cause a lot of flame/sparks, and so I don't use them for airsoft.

The plastic shells stay intact, they just rip open and won't fragment due to the softness of the plastic. If it was a hard plastic like a Tic Tac container then it'd fragment into small pieces.

Hell we used to build some with airbombs (the large ones, not the small ones) and a full tube of toilet paper. That bang a lot!

Theses kindernades are just fun. The BBs are more for the sake of it and I have yet to be hit by a BB in one. But when they land near you, the "Oh shit! GRENADE!" effect is working fine. You can ask Long_Bong or Silvertorn... they both got some "accidents" with them (at least once the grenade bounced back at them in a 5x5 closed space).

They sell theses little firecrackers to kids in the states... I know they are stupid some times, but even if you hold it in your hand, you barely will get some bruises... I do more stupid/painfull stuff when drunk!

Hell we use to use tennis ball grenades, but I completely understand safety concerns. At the field i use to play at people had to submit them to the admins for testing prior to the game.

I don't totaly understand. The one your refering, to my knowladge, don't explode in any way, they just spray sparks. So how exacctly do the work? I'd love to know of a safe way to consistantly make or buy firecrackers for this. Iv been trying for years now, but either their to loud, or to much fire/sparks are involved.
