As a prank, it was a really DUMB move. Some of us DO have something to lose if they get police attention. That may even include jobs.
Dont know about you, but I kinda like to have a job. Please pick something a bit more intelligent next time that wont affect people's lives and well being. No, I'm not joking at all. You can make pranks that are funny, I've seen them before. This was totally off-base. There's fun, but when that 'fun' puts people at risk it's not 'funny'. Seriousness is one thing, but a minimum of respect and thought for the effect a joke can have on others is required. Nobody here reads minds. Please dont do something like this again unless it's clearly a spoof/tease. Thank you. |

well... that's why this was done this way, Grey. Read a bit past what's on the surface - this was all a prank. It was a story that was made up to get some people a bit freaked out.
But nobody was actually put at risk. Why? Because nothing actually happened. Nothing was going to happen. No authorities were involved or notified. No investigation was underway. Nothing was happening. It's all internet hearsay. Yes, I do have some airsoft shipments stuck in customs right now, but they have nothing to do with the story that was made up. But again, I apologize. More thought will go into having fun in the future. (btw, if a prank is "clearly" a spoof or tease, it wouldn't make it that much fun now, would it? ) |

I think the fallout from the community over the "prank" is the funny bit!

The part that bothered me, was the mods are always the ones crushing the "sky is falling" rumors. Now when they are saying that they under investigation from the RCMP, or CSIS, people's ears tend to perk up.
As I stated in the IRC chat, I go under a CSIS review for my security clearance for my job, every 5 years, with a record check every year. If all of a sudden my name is listed as being involved in an illegal activity, I could potentially lose my clearance. The points being made in the other thread, by ZD, and others were valid. If the ASC rule is read, read, and read some more. Listen to the advice and information given by the vets, and mods. Pulling practical jokes such as "Sorry I had to give out user list" is in poor taste. That being said, apology accepted, no hard feelings on my end. |

Guess what....airsoft is not illegal, we are not involved in anything illegal on this site.....people have nothing to worry about in the first place.
People need to remove the stick that is up their ass. If people are so concerned about being "caught" as an ASC user.....reconsider using the site then.

Then I took a step back, and if most would have stopped and taken a step back, they would have realized there was something fishy about the whole story. The only post that made me worry for a split second was yours Illusion, however a look back at the whole thread told me you just jumped on the band wagon to give this some more momentum. Nice touch. |

I think that's the third time someone's started the Tru getting arrested joke...... (also, FYI, we have no master list of people's names anyway, including for the verification - some names were collected, but it's only partial, and none of them were stored anywhere centralized, if it was kept at all)
