GBB Mags Prohibited
I ordered 2 Kjw M9 GBB mags from Uncompany (ya ya i know should have ordered it from Canada, lesson learned). Then I got this message from Uncompany:
Dear Sir, Fedex just inform me that the item in shipment 9795094***** is prohibited to enter Canada, please advise if you want to return the parcel or abandon it. Best regards, Sales UN COMPANY I called Fedex and they said that I had no choice but to abandon or send it back. I was under the impression that GBB mags where legal to import. Is there anything I can do here? |

that is VERY surprising to me. I bought 2 KJW M4 mags from airsoft global and FedEx shipped them to me. I have to pay an extra $14 for some fee... but I got them...

they're not prohibited, just get a refund and buy from within canada or from another overseas site that knows what they are doing.

thats messed up man, paypal claim i guess, when you checked out they should have made a note saying that it was prohibited if it actually was their policy.

Did you receive any notice from the CBSA in this regard? Or was it only from UNCo? Ive ordered mags from them many times and never had any issues.

General rule of thumb, if Fedex, UPS, TNC, etc say it prohibited from import ask for CBSA Letter, and ask for appeal stating that it is for the purpose of airsoft aka not firearm. Demand the name of Agent who denied this, the phone CBSA and ask for the firearm expert. Give the item picture, if he says there shoudnt be a problem, tell him that you have an open case where it was denied, give the agent's name. Basically the expert can overrule the agent.

I was gonna post something along the lines of what kullwarrior just posted, but since the OP has resolved it (kinda) and went for a local distributor instead of overseas. But it still serves as good info for anyone else in this situation later on.

No, that hasn't happened to me yet, nor have I heard of any issues with importing GBB mags. I would have assumed that if mags are prohibited, they would have confiscated my last eHobby order containing 4 Hi-Capa GBB magazines and 5 G3 AEG magazines. Pursue UNCompany (with the "help" of PayPal) and demand a full refund. No, that shouldn't have happened - I'm not sure what went wrong.
I'm sorry to hear that. |

Sounds like a FedEx problem more than a UNC or CBSA problem... broker saw "airsoft" and just assumed anything airsoft wasn't allowed and refused it. CBSA most likely never saw it.

The case is still open. Im going to ask fedex for the CBSA letter and see what they say. Last chat i had with them was less than pleasent, they seemed unwilling to even deal with me.
