Shipping AEG/GBB within Canada?

I thought I read somewhere here that you can no longer ship ASGs' through Canada Post. I am in the middle of a trade but have never shipped one before and I don't want to get in shit. Does anyone know if this is true? From what I understand parts are ok but not a complete gun.

They only know what's in the package if you tell them what's in it. Wrap it securely so it can't accidentally open, and you're set to go.

I dont believe Canada post ever condoned the shipping of any time of airsoft gun or replca item, but well just like speeding and J walking, people still do it.

Since this original post about not being able to ship CP, I've shipped out 3 guns and receieved two through them, including a large rifle. It's like crunchmeister said, as long you don't tell them what's in it, they don't ask.

As far as I know, packages don't get scanned or checked for illegal products.

If there is nothing suspicious about the package, the chance of it getting "caught" are almost nonexistent.

Apparently Purolator's still ok, if you want to avoid CP all together.

You can ship firearms throught Canada Post including Restricted Firearms (Handguns). You don't have to sign a declaration unless its leaving Canada. In fact because most private carriers started to deny firearm shipments they had to open up the shipping to include all firearms inluding Prohibited. But no explosives (Ammo).

No, its true - they've made it policy not to ship firearms of any sort anymore. If they check the contents of the parcels, then this policy will obviously have the potential of being enforced; if they don't bother to check, then I really wouldn't worry about it.

Half correct. You can ship firearms (including restricted firearms) using Canada Post's most secure method*, Priority Courrier with Signature.

*Canada Post has declared Priority Courrier with Signature to be their most secure method, although it is debateable as to whether it's any more secure than Xpresspost. Therefore, any other method is technically against the law**. This is only really a concern should your package not arrive and you initiate a claim.

** An individual may ship a firearm by posting it only if

(a) the firearm is a non-restricted firearm, restricted firearm or prohibited handgun;

(b) the destination is within Canada; and

(c) the firearm is posted using the most secure means of transmission by post that is offered by the Canada Post Corporation that includes the requirement to obtain a signature on delivery.
