I would have to agree, the summer tunic looks great. Not to say the other isn't good as well. Where did you get them from? I may finally start an SS kit.

That looks awesome...although I wouldn't wear Waffen-SS uniform in the field.

Price wise...I think for the M40 with medals would cost approx $220-$250 U.S.

The HBT Reed Tunic is approx $75 US.

I purchased them both from www.ww2militaria-kcs.com.

The Medals I purchased from MilitaryTour.

As for wearing them in the field, I purchased them more for putting an entire impression together for display. I now have everything kit wise and am working on the smaller personal items that the soldier would carry such as shaving kit, butter dish, blankets etc. I have most of the items, just require a few of the smaller ones. Most of my kit items are named originals, such as the gasmask and carrier, bayonet, refinished original M35 helmet etc, and some are replicas such as my oakleaf zeltbahn, boots, etc....

When all is said and done, I believe my collection is worth approximately $2000-$2500 US.

I will try to post a complete picture of the entire collection within the next couple of weeks. I am looking for a mannequin to display the collection on but full sized ones are difficult to come by not to mention expensive.

Sorry for the thread jack but if you are looking for a mannequin go to any of the "big stores" ie HBC and ask if they have any mannequins that aren't suitable for display. I did this a few years back and got 2 from a SAAN store and 1 from HBC. Generally if the faces are marked up they can't/won't display them. I got all 3 for $0

Actually neither...Although I do own the Marushin Kar98.....I primarily am a collector and have had an interest in German items since early childhood. I have quite a few relatives (Most are deceased now) that served in the Heer and Waffen SS as well as other branches of the German Military durinig WWII. My fascination with the German Wehrmacht started at a very early age and since I have a huge collection of books, paperwork gear and other memorbilia from the Wehrmacht.
