What the heck is this thing? Emits red light but not visible
Maybe someone has a clue what this is? We have this at the surplus store I work at here in Toronto.

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

If the lens glows red, then it's most definitely an infrared light.
Don't stare into it too long or your eyes will get sore |

Its a Newcon Optik IR Illuminator that should have been sold with a set of Bino's or a Monocular but someone forgot it aside. Its probly there from the 90's still. Have fun testing it out in the basement.
Yeah found it http://www.newcon-optik.com/Manuals/Stargate_M.pdf Last edited by Armyissue; July 17th, 2015 at 18:49.. |

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P
|
Test if your cell phone camera can see IR light (you can just view your remote controll through the camera while you press a button, if you see some light from the front of the remote then yer good)
If you can see IR with yer phone then you've got some makeshift nods to use around the house or yard or park lol
