Outdoor setup advice.

Hello fellow airsofters, quick question first the docs here: I'm looking to put some Rocky Balboa spirit in my AEG, namely an estimated 400FPS on .28 gram BB's. Right now I register about 375FPS on .25 grams. ROF ideally should be around 20-25.

I've got a full Systema reinforced 'box with an M120 motor. I haven't gamed the old girl apart in a while. What would I need in terms of a spring/gearbox/battery upgrade?

I need advice from someone experienced... someone torobto-based who could even do the work for me, for cash obviously. Also looking to get my box rewired to low-res Deans.

Cheers!

I don't know what or who you intend to shoot with some .28 at 400 fps, but honestly, you are shopping for a punch (or two) in the face...

I don't know a field that will allow you to shoot that hot, even outside... most, if not all the fieds will allow 400fps MAX on .20... Unless you want to hurt and injure the guys playing (and I insist on playing, because it's only a game... not real war...) on the other side, just remove that idea from your mind...

Besides, would you be happy to receive 10-15 bbs, using that velocity, in your face? Because my guess is you play full auto... and guess what? usually when a BB hits something, the 10 that follow will hit almost at the same spot... plus imagine if you shoot someone (let's say accidentally) at close range...

What makes a gun a great gun is not the FPS, it's the precision, consistency and range... I own some guns that are shooting 350 fps (and even lower than that) with .20g bbs, damn staight and far... but I paid for the quality...

That's just my personnal opinion... you do what you want... but...

My advice, if you want it to last long at that velocity...
Lonex A1 motor
11.1v lipo battery (could get away with a 15C discharge rate)
M140/M150 spring
Upgraded cylinder head with 70oo sorbo buddies installed
Lonex Red piston
Upgraded metal nozzle with o-ring

Buy the above here: http://www.airsoftstore.ca

Also from my experience, the Systema "reinforced" gearboxes aren't terribly strong, so radius the cylinder windows for increased durability.

400 fps at .2 is the standard.. looks like you are there already.

Your alrdy pushing 420fps on a 20 alot of fields wont even let you game that.
Its as if your tryin to turn your aeg into a sniper rifle lol.
What your asking for is round 475fps on a 20.
If it wet a bolt action i could see folks letting you game it. Even without lvl2 cert but not an aeg.
Good luck with yer build!

OK, folks. Scratch the Rocky Project here. I don't want to murder my fellow players...

So I still have to chrono the old gal, see how she's doing. Right now I believe she's outputting 375@0.25... I don't really use 0.20 unless it's CQB/sidearm. Thus, how would 375@0.25 translate into FPS@0.28?

I want to produce a solid mid/long-range rifle here. Any advice for that 380ish on 0.25 as well as the gearbox upgrades I'd need for a LiPo?

Probably around 350 or so, maybe a little lower or higher depending on the other parts of your compression.
