What material would you pick?

Yes, I'm a gear whore.

Here's what I have:

1 black cheapo LBV-88
1 OD Blackhawk tac vest
1 black MOLLE TV setup from Tiger Tactical (on it's way)

I'm already gearing up to order another setup. Thinking two piece MAV (from Tactical Taylor) with the Y harness yoke, but made at Tiger Tactical. Cheaper, better choice of material.

What pattern would you take?

3 Colour Desert
6 Colour Desert (subdued)
6 Colour Desert (chocolate chip)
Brick
CADPAT (sold out, no ETA to re-stocking)
Desert MARPAT
Jungle Stalker (I've always wondered if my Parkland BDU's are closer to Jungle Stalker or CADPAT...)
Hurricane Orange
Hurricane
Concrete
MARPAT
Mountain Stalker
MultiCam
Navy
Tiger Stripe
Street Stalker
Tiger Stripe (subdued)
Urban (subdued)
Urban
Desert Tiger Stripe
Vietnam Tiger Stripe
Woodland
Olive Drab (a.k.a. OD)
White
ACUPAT
Current US Air Force
Superflage

Here's the link to the list:

Trying to avoid colours I already have.

Brick is pretty nice (never seen anyone else use it before so it would be different in a good way)

Nope. But with all the choice, why would you want to anyways?

If you want to be a true gearwhore, you should be buying gear that is practical, not because it comes in a pretty camo pattern. Getting a vest in a non-issued pattern will just make you look like a noob.

EDIT: The exception to my comment would be MultiCam, it's non-issue but oh so sweet. How come MultiCam isn't on the list?

At least half of those are "issued". And in the truest sense, I'm looking for what works, not just what's pretty. Camouflaged, as in, blending in with the environment, as in, what works, as in, making the real guys jealous that I can pick and choose what best matches whichever environment I'll be in and not get "stuck" with what's issued to me.

Keep in mind, alot of the US guys can pick their own gear. As long as it matches the environment, they have alot of choices available to them. However, few do, as they tend to want TT or Blackhawk (or others), with very limited colour selection (read - OD, tan, camo, black), unlike Tiger.

Few do because:

1. They can't afford what they need
2. They don't know any better
3. They think issue gear is good (cause they never tried anything else)
4. They don't think they will be in the military that long to make it worth while

Why Blackhawk - Cheap, always have stock, lots of advertising and see #3

Some of the newer BHI stuff is (in my opinion) on par with some of the higher-end gear manufacturers. The bottom line is if it does what you need it to do, then it's good.

Go with the Multicam. You can't really get any better than that cause it fits in everywhere.

Of course if you play mostly in Canadian Forests, than go CADpat, but if you ever plan to Play anywere with even a tiny bit of desert like enviroment, or another extreme enviroment, than get the multicam.

Why don't you make your own decision? Seriously, I'm not trying to sound like an ass or anything but it's just strange for someone to post a huge list of camo patterns and expect us guys on the internet to pick out what's best for you. It's one thing to ask for help on which pattern to use for a certain environment after narrowing it down yourself, but this is crazy.

If you ask me, go for something no one else has just for cool factor.

Regarding Tiger Tactical, either they are super busy or situation normal, but expect many weeks to get whatever you oreder. Almost two months ago I ordered a custom OD MP5 mag pouch (three instead of dual) and they told me about two weeks to make and ship it. Three weeks after they were to send it, I e-mailed and the said end of the week it'd be shipped. Two weeks later I e-mailed again, they said end of the week it should be shipped. What I've heard they are reasonably fast at getting stuff out, even if they have to make it first, but this is getting rediculous.

Case in point, don't expect to get it by a certain date, regardless of what they quote you. I should have received my mag pouch a month ago. Last e-mail said it should be mailed yesterday. If it was, now I get to deal with Canada Post during vacation season!!!!

Use whatever best suites the enviroment you are playing in.

I use cadpat cause out here it works all year long, even when it snows. Not sure how playing conditions are out east tho.

Use what you think look's best & works well for you. Key is to not give a rats ass about what others think and just do you own thing when it comes to gear.

Honestly I like the combination of Cadpat clothing and OD webbing/gear. Something about it just looks GOOD! And works just the same.
