Airsoft on DND Property
Hey guys...
The search function is yielding no results for me, so I'd like to state out here that I'd like to talk to whoever it was that organized the game that happened (or was supposed to happen) on a base over in Alberta. I'm currently putting a proposal together for my CO here so I can gain his support when I approach the Base Commander to ask. Being able to show a precedent for this and demonstrate that such an event worked out without any real problems in the past would definitely be an invaluable asset in my presentation. Specifically, I'd need information on the insurance or liability assessments from AJAG and any security arrangements that were needed to be made. Thanks. :P

Downsview Park Defcon Outdoor Paintball
Area 51 Paintball Park Indoor @ Downsview Park http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CFB_Downsview and the CF used Building 58 as a FISH training unit, that employed several Training devices. this kill house system was invented in Downsview so dig deeper. Troops practise combat skills in portable kill house - YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...eHO0QCdig&NR=1 and for supportive documents look to the US for Airsoft on Bases. When I was at Area51 a reserve CF medical unit used paintball to simulate a combat environment where they exercised the ability to deploy medical treatment. It was a great learning experience for the unit as it was able to simulate what it would be like under fire and taking casualties.

That was the Cold Front game at CFB Wainwright in like 09. I forget who organized that one, I think it was WolfPack or DAWG's or something.

DAWG was not around then, I wasn't on scene here at the time yet either, but think it was wolfpack western battalion.

Gotcha. I've already considered contacting someone in regards to OP: Irene, but I wasn't too sure how applicable their regulations would be to CF bases. The logistics would be similar, but I wasn't about to go with a huge operation like theirs. I was talking like a max of 40 (just a scenario day.)

Hmm. This is interesting. I wonder if you did this with proper permission If CF members could than attempt to send teams that way

Cold Front was at CFB Rivers, which is/was no longer owned by the Canadian Forces. Wolfpack WBAT put it on.

CF Airsoft Force on Force 02262011 - YouTube
Although it was held indoors, with a reserve unit (held in a reserve armoury), this was technically held on DND property and could have been sanctioned by the Reserve CO... I don't know the location, don't know the logistics, but contact the person that posted the video, they should be able to help you out with it. Last edited by helljumper02; July 22nd, 2012 at 06:33.. Very valid point Kokanee, I know some BComds won't sign off on it, but the OP was asking for precedence within the CF ... I should have been clearer

That is a Hasty P Armoury, look at the the wall. You can see The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment cap badge and ALL those battle honours. As well as the walls have regimental colours. |
