Can I bring these things into Canada?

I apologize if this is in the wrong section.

A little background: I used to play airsoft until about 6 years ago, but I moved to Japan 5 years ago. While in Japan I've managed to accumulate quite a few guns, but sadly because of where I live I never managed to get to a single game here.

Anyway, TLDR.

I've read the "importing airsoft" sticky, and mostly I'm aware of the kinds of things I can/can't ship to Canada. However, there are a couple parts that I hoped for clarification on.

• M4 buffer tube
• charging handle/mag release, forward assist, fire selector
• replica Magpul stock
• 10-inch Noveske-style rail system, with associated outer/inner barrel
• dummy MBITR radio with whip antenna
• a couple of Marui 1911 mags

I also just wanted to make sure that trying to ship these things back would likely result in seizure:

• metal upper/lower for M4
• replica suppressor

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

suppressors are iffy best air on the safe side and not risk the importation
the the upper receiver for an m4 is fine its the lower that is restricted.

the rest of the parts you have listed are A-OK for importation.

mags are ok as long as there are no dummy rounds in them..

Thanks for the quick reply. Didn't know that about the upper/lower receiver, though there seems to be little point in bringing in just the upper. Regardless, that one less thing I need to worry about.

Bringing in just the upper had me thinking:

It seems obvious, but is there any problem bringing in the gearbox/motor on my M4?

Assuming that's the case, I'd only need to get a new metal body, and I'd have a complete M4 again.

Resurrecting this thread with a quick question to those more knowledgeable than I.

My time in Japan is rapidly drawing to a close, and looking at my GBB collection, I feel saddened that I have to part with it.

Or do I? That's the question I have. I know that shipping it to Toronto will result in confiscation, but I also know that retailers have permits (licenses?) to import. Would it be possible for a retailer to "buy" 2 of my GBBs from me, and then "sell" them back to me?

Honestly this is more for curiosity's sake than anything else. More than likely I'll still end up selling my pistols and buying a new one when I get back to TO.

I was in the same position a while back but not in Japan. Make sure they will let you leave with the items, that's where I got screwed.

Well you could talk to a guy named Aquamarine. He might be able to figure some things out for you (as well as get you AV'ed if you're close by).

Every part of the gun should be fine for importation except the lower. So all the internals, and most of the externals are fine. Once in country lowers can be around $150-250+ depending on brand and material (ie. Monkey metal, zinc, steel, alu, ABS, nylon fibre, etc.), and if it's NIB or used (some people upgrade their lowers to an aftermarket one and have no need for the stock one so put them up for sale they can be plastic or metal).

There is one other way of getting them in but AFAIK it's illegal to do whats required in Japan to make it OK for importation to Canada. Not to mention you could end up playing the phone game with CBSA/RCMP and get yourself into a big clusterfuck and possibly get nailed by them and put on some list.

PS: Sorry I can't tell you what it is because I don't want to be liable nor am I allowed to according to the sites rules, you have to be AV'ed to be able to see the info section on that (cause we don't want kids ordering from overseas and QQ'ing when CBSA seizes their packages and charging back on PP and making the Asian retailers ban Canadians from purchasing like has happened already).

Errr....I think some of those parts are ITAR (Magpul stocks), so if they're coming VIA or THROUGH the US you may have an issue.

-Where do you currently live
-Which guns do you have
-Which guns do you want to send back to Canada

What a couple other gentlemen had done is left their extra guns in my possession and once they found a person with the legal ability to import them, they were sent over. That said, I still have 4 (or 5?) pistols that have not been sent to their owners, as I understand they will be picking them up this year.

Anyway, PM me, let's figure this out for you.

Good to know. I think the moving company I will be using will ship to Toronto via Vancouver, but it's something I'll double check. If it's just the Magpul stuff that might cause trouble if it's going via US, maybe it's better to put those in my luggage when I go back? Or is this asking for trouble from Canadian customs?
