My IDF (Israeli Defence Force) Impression, Mk.1
Took my new IDF kit for a spin over the weekend, a bit of a mix this one I admit, a kit I went for after watching "Waltz with Bashir":
King Arms Galil: Fantastic AEG, well chuffed with it. Maybe a bit old I know for the new look kit (especially with the wooden foregrip), but its a Galil for God's sake! I can't NOT use it! BDU's: The uniform, the Raful bush hat, the helmet cover and bands are all authentic (from Zahal.com). Really comfy to wear, especially in the heat. The Dubon winter Jacket was from ebay, the boots are Russian Paratrooper boots (The IDF can pretty much be seen in any type of footwear!) The Helmet is a British Mk6 with the bulges at the side cut off then wire mesh put in place to cover the holes. Its REALLY hard to get a IDF Helmet in my size. The vest is a proper Marom vest from Zahal.com and its a great buy. Can fit Galil/AK size mags aswell as M16, perfect for a "Merc" look for general play.

The helmet really sells it, I gotta say. Nice custom job. The impression is top notch, as expected from the Beastly One.
Whats the back of the Marom vest like? The picture on Zahal isn't very informative As an aside, for IDF geardos Beaufort is also a great movie. |

I saw that movie. I almost learned to speak the language... That movie was a good insight of what it was like to be there. And the gear was cool.
I'm not too fond of the IDF gear, but I must say, they do a lot with little.

I must admit I fancy the 80's harness very much and am planning to get one. I fancy a Tavor even more though....
Here is a pic of the back of the vest (the best one I have I am afraid) its actually quite spacious, and the pic shows the compartments folded up. The top can fit the Mk6 helmet!

With my new Tavor....
Kit list: Converted British Mk.6 helmet (try finding a Israeli kevlar in a 62cm size...) IDF Fatigues, British 56 webbing army belt (same design as the IDF) IDF Infantry Combatant Vest Russian Para boots (IDF can wear any footwear they wish, usually hiking boots by most photos!)
