Players who don't shoulder their gun properly when they shoot and fire like it's a paintball gun.

This.

I find myself tip-toeing into milsim more and more as i am discouraged by the fact that I go to play airsoft for realism, not people in jeans spraying 1000 round hi-caps.

Not to mention those who say everything is for "fun". It's not like the guys with the "gucci" gear, and 1000$ guns aren't having fun... they just dont want to have fun with people that look like paintballers.

My pet peeve is the noobs who think abs is different than polymer. True, abs is not glass filled nylon, but yes, they are both polymers...

When it's all about the money. When people feel the need to slander lower cost equipment. I've got a dozen rifles with clear receivers and most are in the 350fps range. So very similar abilities, weapon related but because others use full metal or at least all coloured rifles, they think mine can't cut it. Makes me laugh when this ex military operator creams the guy who claims he's got "professional" training because he took a weekend course and has a $600 gun. Not one of my rifles cost more than $250 and I only paid half price on sale so it was less! LOL

And yes, I've got nice camo, several suits and I look/act the part for serious players. Just have a clear receiver rifle.

I love these stories, but I just wonder. Normally it's either bad player with uber guns or awesome player with low end stuff and it evens out. Then there's the 15 year olds with wal mart guns... but anyways... What happens when those spec ops/ex-military type dudes end up with 2000$ guns :P.

Just goes to show, it's the player, not the gun. Do you like clear lowers? Or do you just not bother spending money on replacing them?

Well, my MP5 has a 350fps with .2's and a range of about 220ft straight shot. Not so sure a more expensive gun is gonna make that any better in a game where it's considered proper to use 400fps or less. So if it's a cost issue, and those other guns do better in range, then maybe. But Iv'e yet to see an automatic go much further. I'm rarely shooting at people beyond 200ft in the wooded area's we play in. So I'd accept 300ft or more to be the exception, if I needed it to compete.

(Edit: Don't care to replace the clear receiver if I don't need to.)

It really depends on what the gun is to be honest. There are good guns that are clear receiver'd, but there are also masses of guns that really, really don't compare. And the ones that do generally don't last too long without some impending failure internally or externally.

I invest in reputable brands for the reason they are reputable in the first place, reliability out of the box and performance to satisfy. While most clones have picked up their act as of late, there still is a chance of getting a peice of shit out of the box, i've taken those chances and quite frankly i've gotten the ass end of the deal on multiple occasions.

Call it a bad aftertaste if you will. I just won't put any more money in cheap airsoft guns anymore.

I pull the range vs effective range card. How many rounds does it take to get a hit at 220 ft? Range isn't expensive, but getting consistent shots is, which is what *is* expensive.

Also, maybe it's just me, but considering you could just paint it black... sort of irks me.. (unless this is illegal in Canada, then just ignore this)

No, it's perfectly legal.

Pet peeve of mine... My ex-American comrades complaining about buying a stock TM VSR10 because of the low FPS and high price. "Well I can just get a 380 FPS AGM VSR10 for 80, why would i wanna pay 250$ for a TM one?" -_-'

Another: When someone gives away your position via cellphone ringing. Yes, it just makes my day to hear Bad Romance blasting in the heat of a Milsim

I should explain, 220ft distance straight with no more than 5 inch variance. I might fire semi auto, 4 rounds to hit. Don't need to spray.

As per the paint it option, the legal issue is a grey area. The only thing Canadian laws cover in this form is it may not reasonably mistaken for a firearm. Thats pretty much it. So as full black version could be a crime. Depending on who's making the judgement. A water gun painted black could be a fax weapon. So nobody in their reasonable mind would think a see through receiver as being real. The law is really vague when it comes to replica's and airsoft.

I know guys who have fully coloured models and say they never get harassed by police. Keep in mind, they, like myself, play on private land or indoors. So why would a cop bother you? Play with it in your back yard in full view of the street and see if that differs if you have any doubts. LOL I wouldn't recommend it though.

new twist on an old one... the online gamer kiddies ... I'm happy they got off the couch and came outside, but seriously... to find out someone was running around picking up dead teammates guns and using them every time they went to respawn. (small local milsim, our team was defending a hill/base, when killed we had to walk to a respawn area, then back to the hill. taking our gear with us was just unnessasary lugging weight.)

I don't mean he was running out of ammo and grabbing someone elses to keep defending. I mean litterally someone elses gun was put down he would drop his and run grab theirs wasting their ammo.

he was caught in the act... and then got a rather rude awakening when he reached for my bolt rifle.

oh! the best part... he was supposed to be leading the team to bring us our ammo to continue defending the hill........ we didn't get any ammo till we halfed our defenders to go get it ourselves...
