I know the real steel MP40 was full auto only. This version is both semi and full, I know that WGC is modding them to be just auto which is good in my opinion. My only question is how would a person release the tension on the spring after use or for storage? the rule is to fire a couple of shots on semi to return the spring to a decompressed state right. Just curious.

Tap the trigger lightly until you fire one shot. It works on all my guns.

It appears that the "WGC Custom MP40" has become the "Jet Custom MP40".

WGC also sells the unmodified AGM MP40 for $20 less than the "custom" one.

32 round magazines cost $7 each.

From the looks of the pictures it doesnt look like it could be that bad. Its all copied parts from TM so you can use other Ver.3 parts. Metal construction. Doesnt have a semi auto so nothing to go wrong there. And all for a 120 bucks US. Ill take 2!

Too bad the Japanese internals suck three times as much as these Chinese ones.

Did you read the disclaimer under the pictures, "Ya we test it, but if you don't like it's performance or the finish on it too bad for you." I'm still not sure what to think of the gun. But for the money I guess it's a crap shoot. Still i think I'll get one.

Greetings to All here! Just wanted to say hello as I await my age verification, and Solicit opinions as to the "Best" Place/Individual to Purchase an Airsoft MP-40 in/Around Victoria, BC?
I'm leaning towards the Chinese version mentioned here? I'd appreciate any thoughts or comments. Cheers and Regards to All-JamieW

At this point in time the only MP-40's you can get are the TOP version and this new Chinese version. I own the TOP version and I suggest you avoid it like the plague. :banghead: I am looking forward to seeing this Chinese MP-40 in person, because it has a much better gearbox than the TOP version and will hopefully work when you want it to. The only place I can suggest to buy anything from in Canada is ASC Armoury or A&A airsoft. You will find these retailers at the top of this page under "Canadian Retailers". Hope this helps.

Dogfood, My sincers thanks and appreciation! I have contacted both as you suggested, quite awhile ago. I asked both to investigate the Chinese MP-40, and have yet to hear back for some reason.

Again, I thank you for your advice. Cheers and Regards-JamieW

Just received the AGM MP40 this week. Had it apart to check things out and for the price - NO COMPLAINTS! Fired a few mags through it and it works fine. Going to use it tomorrow airsofting. Will post and let you know how it performs after a day's use. In comparison with the TOP MP40 - this gun isn't anywhere near as nice in looks (ie finish), cause it has a satin black finish and the TOP guns have the 'blued' look which is much more authentic. Obviously, these guns are made cheaper and thats the look you get.

Overall, definitely worth purchasing - they WORK and they look and feel pretty good.

Having stripped both guns and laid them out side-by-side, only big difference is where the gearbox is mounted, its slightly further away compared to the top, so will need a bit of drilling (elongate hole) to make it fit, but it should fit with that modification. Both pistol grips fit fine. The TOP side guards, need slight trimming to fit the AMG box as well. The major problem, is the mag well area - the chinese one has a plastic insert whereas the TOP insert is metal. There will be a problem getting that out as its fused together.

Going to try putting the chinese parts into the TOP MP 40, as we have a spare one and will let you know how we get on.

The select fire switch - we're going to try and rig up some kind of a hidden rod, basically for decompressing the spring. As these MAGS are only 30-50 rounds, they empty in seconds, although we have converted UZI hi-caps and they work fine in them.

PS: Your TOP mags - if you strip them and turn the insides around, they will fit into this new chinese gun - saves buying more mags.

Will put pics up once we have time to get this done.

Cheers from Scotland!!
