I have four uniforms. Just have to decide which one to wear.

For someone wanting to carry a sidearm or a full-size rifle, I would recommend a Rubber Band Gun. I've been using a rubber band gun as my sidearm for my LAPD uniform/costume for the last four years, and I'll be using it again for my NYPD uniform/costume this year. Not only does it give you something to rest your hand/arm on when you're doing nothing more than having a wobbly-pop or two, but you have an elastic projectile if you decide someone needs being pelted with bits of rubber.

As a disclaimer/recommendation though, I highly suggest leaving the rubber band gun in a natural wood colour versus black. If you opt for black, someone may think that it is real and things would go bad very quickly.

Speaking of which, I'll post pics as soon as we get them done.

Last year xAndrewx and myself kitted up, and the only "weapon" we had on us, was a banana in our holsters.

The ladies in line behind us at Zaphods had some fun with them.

drop in numbers this year

The kids are all gone now for the season, has anyone else noticed a huge drop in numbers when it comes to the monkeys at the door? (trick or treaters)
Last year I had 120 kids at the door, this year maybe 25.

Its still early here but we have not had many children at all so far.
I think we are still under double digits.

Yeah I took my brother out and got some candy for myself while I was at it.

But did not see as many kids as we did last year.

Had fun and scored free candy though hehe.

I hypothesize it to be related to the changing demographics. The country is ageing, some areas disproportionately to others. A lot of the city areas appear to be older whereas in suburban areas there are a lot more new and younger families as that's where there is affordable living/housing.

Also since people in Canada and first world countries aren't having as many kids (Canada's TFR is only 1.6 children compared to 2.5 needed for a "stable" population) that might be affecting things as well.

Long story short you'll have a lot more candy after Halloween in the upcoming years especially so if you live in "older" neighbourhoods with a large amount of retired/seniors.

My street last year had over 100 kids at the door this year 39, It seems more than just demographics unless 70 people got real old fast....

It could be H1N1 fears. With what happened recently, I wouldn't be surprised if parents would want to keep children indoors until it all blows over.

I had customers that came to my store and said their neighbors wouldn't let their kids out even if they cried because of the flu and begged me to give him candy for their kids XD, I had about 14 kids this year at my work.
