the average player drops around 1 grand in their first year, this includes an aeg, battery, charger, goggles, bb's, field fees and if your lucky some camo i know in the past week i have spent 700 bucks on just a gbb and some camo and consumables
a thing a gas costs around 30 but it should last a while assuming you don't have a deagle or mk.23 |

Hmm quite a bit. Okay So I'll be turning 16 in around 8 months or so. I turned 15 4 months ago. If I started buying some stuff now for airsoft and just used it for target practice would that be a good idea, or just start paintball now?

WARNING!:Long post!
what i usually suggest to underage people who want to get started is find your local indoor location and Rent, then slowly start getting kit, vest camo, goggles and everything else except for a gun and gun accessories. While your renting figure out what gun you like, and play with it a bunch to see if it suits your style. Even if you have your mind set on a certain gun try out a few different ones, for example i used to be like omfg i want an m4 i started renting it every game thinking it was godly then i tried a Sig 552 and realized that the m4 was the only gun i had used and that there were guns that suited me WAY more(its like buying a house but only looking at one and buying it) Also look around at reviews find out what features you will need for your style(indoor/outdoor) There is probably PILES of people on the forums who wish they had spent 3 or 4 months researching and researching so they would know about something that would bite them in the ass later on. |

Green gas is a hoax, it's basically propane with oil. All you'd need later on is the correct adapter. |

This is what you do, play some Paintball first, (I did a few times and I like it a lot) I'll play it a few more times before I'm 18 and get into airsoft. Just keep playing paintball until you're 18 and then sell your PB stuff (if you bought PB stuff) for some coin and then buy some Airsoft stuff.
For the "messiness" of PB, trust me, if you have Asian parents it's a big deal (mostly heat from my mom because she's really Asian about cleanliness, my dad is a bit more lenient about being dirty because he immigrated to Canada at 10 form Peru) if you're messy and your clothes are dirty. So what I do is get some Overalls from a local car garage or something, if their going to throw it out ask if you can take it and use it, or just buy some, their MADE to get dirty so it's no biggie if you have tons of paint stains on your overalls who's going to see it anyways, you're either going to be painting your house or doing some renovations in it (if you're the DIY type of person) or paintballing in them. Just wait it out there's more important things in High School right now, well for me there's which University do I go to, are my marks high enough, what career do I go into, which faculty, how do I make money, is there anything else I want to do in my life, (how am I going to pay to get my private pilots?) There's tons of things you have to worry about now I don't think you're going to have time to play, even if you invite some friends to your basement and plink there, some are going to be like I have too much homework, or I can't I have to finish a project.
