I hate to necropost (2 weeks isn't too bad, and it's better then making a new topic), but I've got a related question-
It's been since Monday that I had a package mailed from Hong Kong to a friend, and the item's in Vancouver Customs right now. I know it hasn't been a week yet (it's only been in Customs since the 8th), but on the tracking site, will it SAY on the Canada Post site whether it's being held?

It usually says handed over to customs, or something of the like, but doesn't say if they're holding it or not. The only way to tell, is if there's another post saying it left customs or is "In transit" after leaving customs.

Dont trust the updating, Ive had packages that stated that they were handed over the customs, arrive at my door with in a day or two while the tracking info still states that the item has not been released.

As I just posted in another thread moments ago. I ordered a gun from A&A in November. I received the package, and the CP tracking system still only said "Electronic details received". About 10 days after I received it, the CP tracking system was finally updated and sent me a bunch of email updated about "accepted at post office, at sortation plant, etc...". Their tracking system sucks ass.

1.you won't get any criminal anything.
2.you can still get your stuff if you are nice and explain they are toys.

just wait and see if you receive the package. If you don't and get a letter instead, stating it has been retained, you can start negociating (kindly)
If they end up destroying the stuff, you might pay a fine but it's not even sure.
relax!

I just had a package stopped and opened, it was marked as 'athletism accessories' (lol) and got opened because it was an GBB-sized box, it took them 2 weeks to get it out of customs.

IMO the system is good but the employees just don't update it in time.
Also I had an amazon package disappear recently; I'm pretty sure they stole it.I hate amazon for sending theyr stuff in stupid boxes with Amazon written on them, seriously its retarded.

I don't think he will get anything since there is a USP receiver in there.

that cheered me up

im thinking if i receive a letter and i have to talk to them to get my stuff back

should i talk to them and try the sympathy approach?
like, tell them the truth yes they are toys, and i really love airsoft when im in hk but i didnt know the regulations. and i regret it now
and i really love them and originally bought them as a gift for rewarding myself for things improving in life(job and school) and im sorry about it and there wont be next time

thats my primary approach and the truth..what do u guys think

He doesn't care about getting the stuff though, he just hopes he won't get blacklisted.

Customs most likely (99.9%) will
classify your receiver as a prohib
item (if normal black). But if you
did have the item sent in pieces
then they won't take it all. If all
goes like I usually expect, you will
get a letter roughly in 2 weeks
from the time the parcel is held,
stating your receiver meets such
and such classification so you
can't have it, game over. But, you
can call the number provided with
the letter, to ask the officer to
kindly send you the remaining
items that don't fall under any
such classification. They should
agree if you act innocent and do
not demand anything.

You should not be charged with
anything. It was an honest mistake
right? And now all you want is
your remaining toy parts minus
the receiver.

Good luck, be patient, and polite.

Customs is now fucking just every of my orders... And I'm talking about gear, not even AEG parts.

Everything from eywear to MOLLE pouches gets stuck in there for 2-4 days... It's only fucking nylon, hell I had some IIIA inserts that came in way faster!

I can understand the CBSA inspecting packages, but when it's EMS shipping common sense would at least dictate to release the package ASAP. I mean what's the point of paying for express shipping when it's going to get stuck in the customs for days?

Oh and everything comes from the States, dunno if that's related.

if what u have said is true, i can still build my 416
but not my usp
