20rnds PMAG jam?
I received my eBay PMAG 20 rnds shorty mag today from overseas.
The rifle is an ICS M4 The mag requires some effect to sit in the mag catch. Once it is in, the first 20 shots were flawless. I reloaded, and I guess I overloaded it and the spring / follower seems to be jammed (cannot physically see it down the mag). Is this a common issue? I see a lot of videos on how to fix a PMAG, so just basically open the cap and remove spring? Best way to fix the follower? can one upgrade to stronger springs and use other followers?

What brand PMAGs are they? Real PTS?
If they're proper PTS PMAGs, you can use Z's followers (pestobanana here on ASC) and Jake's upgraded springs (Maple Airsoft Supply). If they're ACM... not too sure. |

I believe they are knockoffs, it didn't come in a box or any original packaging.

Well there's your problem :P
Other people might be more help then... I'm not quite sure if you can or should upgrade knockoff mags. |

I've opened up the tab, and the spring is jammed inside
Any ideas on how to unjam the follower?

I managed to pull it out. It is a terrible knock off.
1. Spring guide is a tiny rounded plastic pin 2. Spring is not 'rectangular wound', it is circular round 3. Follower is not the 2 piece design, just a round nub 4. The mag catch seems to have a window that's bigger that the other plastic magazines 5. You have to hold the mag up for it to feed properly I drilled too deep at the cap and broke one of the tabs that locks the cap in place, oops. Managed to fix the spring, reversed it and shove it back in. eBay seller issued me a refund, but I have yet to see my money on my PP account or CC. Terrible.

Sorry to hear that dude. Try the G&P VNs that airsoftparts has. They've been working beautifully for me (although you do lose a few bbs inside the mags cause it's got a dumb follower design).

The stubby Pmag looks good, however.
