GHK M4 mags
Anybody have issues with GHK m4 mags not feeding?
I bought 5, and all of them have the problem of the follower getting stuck near the top of the feed lip causing the topmost BB to be below the feed line into the barrel. I saw this video which is the problem I am experiencing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TrWDFT4rbg I plan to do his fix. Has anybody else experienced this issue? |

File the feedlip

If they are brand new you need to work them in. They will wear down eventually; but as TDOT stated, file them slightly.

Well, in this case the bb hasn't reached the top of the feed lip.
Something is impeding the travel to the top - in which case it seems the video I've provided requires filing one of the arms of the follower, not the feedlip... unless the very base of the feedlip is what you are saying to file. |

yeah had that happen with AK mags when I had them, try different brand and/or weight of BBs, or put stronger mag springs in.

This can't be the achilles heel of a product so highly regarded.

One of my Mags is having the same problem. I'll probably do the mod over the weekend, and report back. Good thing I've got a spare follower and spring in case I mess up. :P

What I ended up doing is shaping the follower similar to what pestobanana makes for AEG mag followers. I've done it to one mag so far, and they feed 98% of the time compared to stock; where it would jam every 3 shots. A couple more tweaks to shaping the follower and it will be 100%. Update:
Filing the feedlip is the correct way to fix this issue if you are using higher end tolerance 6mm bb's. The base of the tapering channel to the top of feedlip is too narrow resulting in the second to topmost BB to get stuck as it tries to move up to the top. Filing/grinding the base of the taper to make it slightly wider will free the second BB from getting getting caught on the base of the taper. |

Here is a pic of what needs to be filed. Left is a brand new feedlip, right is the modified in the mag.
