IASUS IA4 UHF radio
I just bought one of these radios and although the quality seems to be good the support and manual for it are terrible. It almost seems that the person printing the manual must have been foreign and tried to print it out in english. There seems to be a few errors in it. BUT if someone that has this radio and knows how to enter the "SELF" programming mode could explain to me how to do it I would be greatly appreciative. In the manual it says to hold down the CALL button (which to me is on the side and just below the PTT button) AND the MENU button at the same time while turning it on should display the "SELF" screen a couple seconds after turning it on. Well it doesn't do this ofr me and I wonder if someone was successful. Thanks all!

you might want to have this in the "Doctor's Corner" as you are asking for help, plus a title change may get you more hits.

I have a Puxing PX-888, but I think this could help...
The Self-programming mode is used when connected to a PC via cable, right? On my radio - same key combo, BTW - even if the manual says so, there is no display on the LCD upon entering that mode. To make matters worse, even if the radio is in self-programming mode, the software won't recognize the radio until I configure the software for the proper COM port, every time I run the application. This makes the user believe the radio is not in the self-prog mode, re-enforced by the absence of LCD message. So that's two things to check. Good luck.
