I've been snooping around on google and and having trouble finding and answer. Do magnets harm airsoft guns?

I'm wondering because I'm planning to make a gun strap that when folded over itself kinda like a seatbelt the magnets would hold the strap tight to the body so that the gun wouldn't flop around on the back. So when you need to fire you could quickly separate them and ready your gun.

So I was concerned that the magnets might harm the gun, should I stick with buckles?
