Suppressors should have almost no affect on overall volume on a revolver, the only possible benefit would be flash control. Because the chamber is not "closed" between the cylinder and the barrel, there is room for gas to vent and thus sound escapes. There was a video on ASC about this a long time ago, I know its still on CGN somewhere.
