What you could do to see if a Cadpat paint job would look good on your rifle would be to cover it with Cadpat gun tape. Yes it's out there, and it's even the right colour scheme. Beauty is, if you don't like it, just take it off and your gun is none the worse for wear.
I would recommend OD for painting your gun. It works well, it's easy to maintain and touch up if you chip it or it wears, and it goes with any camo you decide to change to. Dirt cheap at $6 a can too.
