I grew up in the great flat Saskatchewan prairies. Where if your a cop on someones land, even just driving up to the house on the main acreage can be trespassing.

Ever hear of a thing called Probable Cause? If a neighbor or person driving past your property see's you with a gun and is concerned enough to call the cops, thats all that they need to pay you a visit on your property. That alone gives them the right to visit you and if they deem necessary to charge you. Once that part is over they can get the warants required to search your property for evidence.
