I can't really answer the other questions raised but I can tell you a bit about firing on your own land.

I grew up in the great flat Saskatchewan prairies. Where if your a cop on someones land, even just driving up to the house on the main acreage can be trespassing.

So you can go into your own woodland behind your back forty and have some fun. However be careful what you do. You should Handel the weapons just like you would if they where real. Shooting someone on your land is still manslaughter and you can still receive assault charges.

So all in all, check out the laws in and around your area. For-warned is better then getting your ass in a sling.
