Under section 4(f) of the Alberta Body Armour Control Act if you have a licence issued under the Firearms Act of Canada such as a PAL, or RPAL then you are exempt from requiring a permit as your PAL, or RPAL is all that is needed.
(f) an individual who has been issued a valid licence under the Firearms Act (Canada);
