Standard means, it M4 ready so there is no selector gear with axle, Only a plate. Thus not allowing for a gear and axle to pass through.
I owned a standard V2 mechbox and the plates didn't match side to side for the selector gear and axle. Thus I had to drill. A V2 mechbox that's M4/M16 and MP5 compatible is exactly what you're after. Though this would be more standard IMO, since it can fit into many basic rifles. However it's not classified as standard. Though it "should" be, it's called an ambidextrous box.
