e's Tokyo Marui 1911A1: "Ballistic"

Hi All,

This thing's been sitting at my desk for a while. I'm becoming increasingly busier these days and hardly have the luxury of time or money to finish anything airsoft.... especially ones that I build for my own collection. Which is no more

I've always regarded 1911s as the king of pistols. It's built on a tried and true formula that has as much iterations as the revolver. These things just work. And they work when you need it the most. Real 1911s are awesome.

But this is airsoft...
This thing has been sitting in my mind for a while. I bought parts here and there. Finally, I'd acquired enough to put something together.

And here it is. It's nothing special and not nearly as nice as some of the 1911 guru builds out there. But I like it.

This is my take on Tokyo Marui M1911A1.
Not as pretty as your folks' but I like it...i guess.

KUWABARA KUWABARA

This gun features an Airsoft Surgeon Single Stack 1911 frame in silver and An Airsoft Surgeon Double Stack Silver slide.

I wanted to get a nice looking single stack with a look and feel of a double. This is why you see a square trigger guard on the gun instead of the standard rounded one.

The grips are real ones for the real 1911s made by Alumagrip. This grip was chosen for the look and feel of the registration. Also, they were chosen to gain some of the weight lost from not using the stock MEU grips.

The Alumagrip is not heavy but at least it's heavier than the Magpul ones (which are just plastic, no weight attached). They're kinda annoying to look at since these grips are ones for frames with no magwells. But whatever...

Still, I found the Magpul grips to be more comfortable than the Alumagrips though. That thumb cut, tho.

Lastly, the grips screws are Guarder steel ones.

The slide and frame offer up some nice engravings. Just as you'd expect from a high quality part from Airsoft Surgeon. He doesnt disappoint.

This gun was tailored for indoor use during the day time with high levels of ligh. As such, both front and rear sights are steel fiber optic sights from NOVA and Prog4.

THe magazine you see there has a high output blowoff valve and some PTS mag bumpers installed.

The outer barrel is an Airsoft Surgeon 1911 Fixed Straight barrel. Hard to find one of these bad boys. had to source this one out in the States of all places!

All controls are NOVA stainless steel hand controls. The slide catch, magazine catch, grip safety, thumb safety, hammer, magwell and trigger. They work ssooo well. No adjustments at all were needed.

Although, i have to express my disappointment with the NOVA magwell. It didn't come with a hammer spring plunger/guide pin.

Internally, this gun features an all metal internal set up.

The inner frame is a Creation STEEL inner frame. The loading muzzle is a UAC aliminum nozzle with an RCC brass floating valve with a modified floating valve spring.

The blowback housing is a Prog4 Lightweight Unit with a modified integrated piston head.

The hop up unit is a NOVA brass hop up unit with a ProG4 steel hop up arm and dial.

I've tailored this gun for use in short distances. About 30-50 ft, to be exact. As such, this gun does not need a hop up system. Thus, the Airsoft Surgeon Non hop inner barrel and bucking combo was installed.

The lower assembley features an all steel hammer mech. They are airsoft Surgeon parts with Guarder Steel body pins.

<whew>

blah blah. Just look at the end of this post to find out which parts were used. lol.

THIS is the Alternative Set Up:

-Slide has been changed to the Shuey Custom "Xtreme" slide
-Grip panels changed to Magpul

This gun chronos at 320-345FPS with .20g BB Bastards and propane.
