A few things here,
1. Spring which makes engagement between the cutoff lever and selector plate is misaligned or insufficient
2. Tabs on the trigger block are worn, replace trigger block
3. (Worst case, most likely) Selector tab (the one which attaches to the external selector lever and directly manipulates the selector plate on the GB) is worn, warped, or otherwise damaged. Replacing this part will require a) sourcing an exact G&G part, or b) replacing both the tab and the plate with matching parts of a different brand and hoping it likes the attachment bar for the external selectors.
Those are the first best bases to hit, but that's if your G&G is currently completely stock.
If you have a different brand's gearbox in there, then you're just swirling the time drain of G&G MP5 necromancy and you'll have to get creative.
Can you give us any more details on this gun, it's overall age, it's working age, any known parts or mods, etc?
