I think he meant he'd like the same weight of bb, but the distribution around the outside (hence a denser material required).

Technically the forward momentum / etc would be the same, and yes, you would need a little more push to get it spinning at the same angular velocity, but since it would have more angular momentum, the spin could last through the air friction for longer, so you *could in theory* try for longer reach.

I didn't pore over the physics in the bbb4$tard report (which is kind of a cool piece of work) so I don't know if you'd get a longer flat range, or just a different flight path, but my engineering guess is that it does sound likely.

It's surprising how well manufacturing ideas have pushed through improvements in other areas, so who knows, it's not impossible that they could make such a thing.

As soon as they get it so that outer shell breaks on impact though, we'll be back to putting lightweight colored powder or paint inside though... just sayin
