I have a fixed stock M4A1 and I love it. Plenty of room for large sized batteries (much more free space for fuse and such compared to TM m16's).
The stock fps is nice, but not necessary at all. It's a bit of a pain having to downgrade a stock spring. It would be nice if it was just around 330 but mine shoots 375-395. For an m4, which is supposed to be used in different environments such as CQC, I don't feel comfortable shooting people even on semi inside structures.
Metal body is very solid though.
