the spring that comes in the max guns could be as high as m140s... my m14 was shooting 475~ out of the box. The battery the came with my m14 max died about 2 games later, it wouldn't hold charge. And that was after I downgraded the spring to an m100.
Your trigger contacts will not have burned out that quickly. Though stranger things have happened.
Find a buddy with a known stronger battery and try that before taking anything apart. If it shoots more than what it does now, your battery is not strong enough to turn over that setup, or it's a shit battery to start with.
