That setup is cheap and effective. Hasn't failed me yet. The only problem is the earpiece. It's kinda uncomfortable after a few hours if it doesn't fit your ear just right. However, if you really want a throat mic, Pryme Gladiator, some Iasus models, and Firefox (cheap as it is, it works) work fine for airsoft. I think it's an imitation of what ILLusion reccommended, but from what i've heard, it works great. I hope this helps.

Actually my throat mic is by far the clearest of the high end ones I have tried or used. I have never had a problem transmitting sounds such as "S and V".
In the end you get what you pay for.
I don't use a cheap radio and won't use a cheap headset for it.
Not worth it. I prefer quality equipment over using gear that "may" fail, as it is not really built well.
