Actually Miles, I did ask, right after your post. Guess it got buried before you replied. I know what your point is, and I have to agree. I am not comfortable with shooting someone with my rifles within 75ft or so, which is why I try to distance myself best I can.

McDonalds cup wasn't a test, it was just a target and we noticed how the BBs (.25g) just kinda went over there and knocked it over without any spectacular results. Made me start realizing a LOT of the fps and energy dies after about 75ft. Granted, I took pics of what my M24 (415fps w/.2g) and my M700 (say 450fps with duster, 550fps with propane) does at 30ft to empty tuna cans. Both were done with .36g BBs. M24 and M700 on duster left a dent maybe 1mm deep on the bottom of the cans. The .36g BBs shot with propane blew a hole RIGHT through the bottom of the can. Keep in mind, this wasn't point blank, I'm talking 30ft away! I'm totally fine with using only duster in my M700, and keeping my distance.
