I know several people whom have had good experience with laser eye surgery. They can see better than ever before.
On the flip side, I only know of one person, (personally know)who came out worse but he was legally blind to start with, without both glasses and contacts on at the same time! The risk was high, but the pop bottle glasses were getting really big and heavy, so they went ahead hoping for the best as it was only getting worse anyway.
