It's probably bad shimming. More than likely your shimming is too tight making your motor work harder to cycle the gears. This will strip your pinion gear in the end.
Your motor hieght may be too high also...
When you fire the SCAR, does the motor and/or the battery get hot?
Try to shim the gearbox so you have at least 1mm movement up and down on the shaft. This way when you screw the box together the gears will be held firmly; not tight and not loose.
Adjust your motor starting at its lowest position (screwed all the way out) and slowly turn it in and listen to the motor. When it's at the perfect hieght you shouldn't hear any squealing and it sound (normal?).
Try using a higher end pinion gear too, Element and Modify may be a little weak for most applications.
